"Lena, come on!" you yelled, dragging your seven year old sister behind you. "(y/n), I can't!" she huffed, struggling to sprint to keep with you.
"I want mama." she said, stopping. You looked back at your sister in exasperation, then looking back at the flames behind you of your burning village under attack.
Doing your best not to bust into tears, you knelt down beside your sister. "Mama is busy. We have to run, Lena, before they get to us." you tried to explain.
"But-"
"Lena, please. We don't have much time." you plead. Lena stared at your (e/c) orbs before nodding. You took off grasping her hand tightly into the tall corn crops.
You dodged the huge husks, trying to find your way out. "(y/n)! A German soldier!" you sister whispered to you. Your head snapped behind, where you saw a silhouette of a man.
"Shit," you cursed under your breath. "HEY! STOP!" he cried. "Hell no," you said, bolting off. Lena started to sob, her tears rolling off her cheeks onto the soil.
You ran as fast as possible, your bare feet squishing in the mud and your nightgown fluttering behind you. Your hair flew back against the wind.
"LENA!" you hissed when she tripped. "GET UP!" you barked. Lena was weeping in pain and curled into a small ball. "What is wrong with you?!" you yelled.
You averted your gaze to her bare feet, and the soles were nearly completely red with her cuts from sprinting. "Lena," you gasped.
You heard the sound of a handgun cocking above. Slowly, you raised your head to see a man in green and black uniform. His blond hair was slicked back, and his cold, dull blue eyes stared into you.
"Please..." you begged. "Mercy." The German merely stared at you blankly. "Please," you said more urgently, tears now running down your grime-streaked face.
The man looked from you to your sister then back to you. He shook his head and pointed the gun at your chest. You shut your eyes tight, clutching your locket around your neck. You rapidly mouthed a prayer and shut your eyes tighter.
The cruel end still came, nonetheless.
"(Y/N)!!" your sister screamed, sobbing even harder. The man bent down to your bloodied body and yanked the gold chain off your neck. He put the oval locket in his breast pocket.
While your sister screamed curses at the soldier, he turned and walked back to where he came from. When he arrived at the now destroyed village, a fellow soldier asked him, "Anything?"
The man shook his head. "Nothing."

Decades later, after a world meeting, the same man sits at a café near the park. His name is Ludwig Beilschimdt, the representation of Germany. He looks the same, and he has kept the locket.
Ludwig never forgot the girl and her sister in the cornfield. It is one of his darkest secrets, one he wouldn't even tell Feliciano. He still opens the locket every now and then.
Reaching into the pocket of his jeans, he wraps his fingers around the chain of the necklace, withdrawing it out of his pocket.
Cracking open the locket, he saw a black and white photo of the face he'd seen so many times. Her delicate smile was alluring, her locks placed in gentle curls.
On the other side of the locket, her name was etched into the gold in calligraphy-like font. (y/n) (l/n).
The black and white photo never showed the colors of her hair, skin, or eyes, but Ludwig would never be able to forget her once alive (e/c) eyes, or (h/c) tresses.
To this day, it's the thing he regrets most. Robbed of innocence at a young age, he had killed that girl.
A girl who deserved mercy.

It was around four thirty when a knock sounded on (y/n)'s front door. She had gotten off of work early today and was lounging in some cotton shorts and a t-shirt. Muting the TV she made her way to the door, looking through the peephole she saw an unfamiliar man on the other side. She opened the door and her eyes met with his red.
"Are you (y/n)?" He asked.
"Yes," She nodded, "and who are you?"
A grin broke out on his lips, "I am Gilbert, the awesome brother of Ludwig!" (e/c) eyes widened in recognition. Ludwig was her boyfriend of over a year and he had mentioned his older brother a couple of times before. While most of the talk they had a

With her eyes closed, she reviewed the territory in her mind. The forest was big, wide, filled with large beasts, most of it

The center of town was crowded as usual. As always everyone kept their heads down and minded their own business. You walking into the grocery store and grabbed a basket. You walked into the dairy section. After grabbing milk you walked over a took a box of potatoes off of a shelf.
Though the gap created by the missing box you could see a mans chest. The small pin on his left breast pocket caught your attention. It was of a large bird holding the Nazi swastika, it was the pin of the Gestapo.
Your breathing faltered slightly and your heart rate quickened. You slowly backed away from the shelf trying to avoid detection. The Ges
